Coronavirus And The Voice Of The Holy Spirit

Many Voices

Greetings everyone! In the midst of this coronaviris (COVID-19) pandemic I want you to know I am praying for you, your families and loved ones, our great nation, and the nations of the world.

Probably just like you I have been inundated with information, biased political rhetoric, statistics, scientific data using words I can’t even pronounce, pleas for help from the medical community — and unfortunately, lots and lots of name-calling, finger-pointing, personal opinions, and even blatant false accusations about who and what is to blame for this worldwide coronavirus pandemic. So many voices!

We’re being bombarded with mixed messages from every side. The right, the left, the conservatives, the liberals, the socialists, the democrats, the republicans, the scientists, the World Health Organization… a gazillion voices. All of these conflicting “words” coming over the airwaves and even out of our own mouths are being released into the atmosphere of our once-peaceful homes. And these words have the potential to create fear, panic, unbelief, hopelessness, depression, and even oppression if we’re not careful.

Every single day since the onslaught of this pandemic, I have had to put a muzzle on my mouth in order not to speak anything contrary to God’s Word. It can be quite a challenge to “speak those things that are not as if they were” (Rom. 4:17b) when the “systems” of the world are unraveling all around us. God always speaks the end result. But in our humanity, we often speak what we see with our physical eyes and what we hear others saying. As Christians, we have to continually remind ourselves that “the power of life and death is in the tongue” (Prov. 18:21). From the beginning of creation God has admonished His people to “Speak life, therefore, that you and your descendants may live” (Deut. 30:19).

I want to encourage you that in these uncertain, unprecedented and desperate times, in times of crisis, there is really only one voice that matters — the voice of the Holy Spirit! It seems as if today’s voices are contradicting yesterday’s voices, which are challenging the voices from the day before. All these conflicting statements create anger amongst our leaders and confusion in our households. A ploy of the enemy. Confusion is never of God. In fact, the Bible says “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace” (1 Cor. 14:33). Anytime we are thrust into a state of confusion, we know God didn’t create it. Confusion is counter to the character of God. God’s character is not chaotic and confused. Confusion and chaos do not express who God is — and confusion is not characteristic of the work of the Holy Spirit.

So what is the antidote to confusion? Rely one-hundred-percent on the voice of the Holy Spirit! He alone is the Spirit of Truth! When there is pandemonium and bedlam all around you, trust in the voice of the Holy Spirit. Block out the babble, and press into what God is saying.

The Holy Spirit is The Spirit of Truth

Let me give you an example of what I’m talking about…

Some years ago, twelve to be exact, a certain self-designated “healing evangelist” came to Central Florida, not many miles from my home. What started as a one-week revival service turned into a four-month-long event. Night after night, Christians from Central Florida flocked to these meetings. Then suddenly, Christians from all over the Sunshine State began showing up by the bus-loads. Soon, Christians from all over the country were booking blocks of rooms at area hotels to see the unconventional and oftentimes entertaining antics this man was performing on the platform in the name of God. It wasn’t long after that, international Christians from all over the world were making the pilgrimage to Lakeland, Florida. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to receive a healing touch from God, many said.

Because of the non-stop chatter in my local church about the ‘signs, wonders and miracles’ that were happening in Lakeland, I decided to watch the services that were being broadcast online. Night after night, I grew increasingly uneasy in my spirit with what I was hearing and seeing. With my Bible at hand, I fact-checked some of the scriptural references and biblical statements being hurled from the pulpit during the evening messages that always preceded the ‘laying on of hands’ for the sick.

Many of them were simply not true! “But why was no one questioning or challenging the truth,” I asked myself over and over again. “Certainly, I cannot be the only one who feels this way,” I said to myself. People from my own church started attending the meetings, and I came under more and more pressure to go along with them. But I couldn’t shake the uneasiness I felt. Something just wasn’t right. After learning my own pastor had attended one of the meetings, along with a man in our church known for operating in the prophetic, I began to think I was just being too skeptical, an overly cautious Christian. “Certainly, if there was anything wrong these two men of God would have realized it,” I reasoned in my head.

Beware of Wildfire!

But night after night, for weeks, I watched — alongside my husband at home, from a distance. And night after night, I had more questions than answers. Then one night, I heard the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Truth) say “wildfire!” Just one little word. But nothing the Holy Spirit says is insignificant. Then He directed me not to watch those meetings anymore! So instead of watching those services, every night I prayed and inquired of the Lord as to what the word “wildfire” meant. As I received more and more revelation, I knew I had to contact my pastor. I had an hour-long conversation about my concerns, but my most pressing questions remained unanswered. Then I told him what the Holy Spirit had revealed to me [wildfire], and he mentioned he too felt uncomfortable when he was there, and wished he had not gone. But no red flag was raised by church leadership, at least not publicly, and I had great concern for the people from our church, especially baby-Christians, who were still attending.

By now I knew for certain what “wildfire” meant: There was a spirit of deceit and rebellion attempting to infiltrate The Church… and it was spreading… like wildfire! There was a demonic influence in those meetings that was imitating the fire of God, but it was not God! It was counterfeit. To be clear, this was not something I came up with, this was not my opinion. This was a revelation from the Spirit of God! It was the voice of the Holy Spirit that revealed truth to me. I mean, I wanted those meetings to be a genuine move of God as much as everyone else did. God Himself knows our nation needs a revival. But for those “with an ear to hear” that simply wasn’t the case.

In the months that followed, I made a decision not to engage in any conversation with church leadership nor fellow congregants about what was happening in those meetings. As a maturing Christian, you eventually learn that you cannot force-feed truth to anyone. I couldn’t force people to stay away, nor did I want to at that point. Oftentimes, experience is the best teacher.

Eventually, four months after those meetings began, they were abruptly shut down. Why? It was determined that deceptive and harmful practices were infiltrating the Body of Christ through these meetings. Biblical untruths were being propagated, and the “minister” was getting drunk before going on stage many nights, as reported [and eventually confessed] by those closest to him. FINALLY, someone listened to the Holy Spirit of God, the Spirit of Truth, and had the guts to shut things down!

Can I tell you something? The voice of the Holy Spirit is not always the most popular voice — but He is always the RIGHT voice! I still wonder how many Christians were harmed by the lies and sensationalism of what was going on, unchallenged, in those meetings. (On a side note, virtually everyone I knew who went there and had “hands laid on them” for healing never recovered from their illnesses. In fact, some got much worse. Be careful who you allow to “lay hands” on you. I’ll do more teaching later regarding false prophets and “lying” signs, wonders and miracles.)

Holy Spirit – The Great Revealer!

I shared that story because here’s what I want you to know: If you are a spirit-filled believer, you have direct access to the only Person who can sort through the confusion of life — the Holy Spirit! Know this… the Spirit of God is not just for pastors, the five-fold ministry gifts, or ‘specially anointed’ Christians. If you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have access to the Omniscient all-knowing God. God knows everything. And God, through His Holy Spirit, stands ready to reveal things that you need to know to protect yourself and others during this coronavirus pandemic.

It is quite possible some of you are in the midst of confusion today. Things are so confusing you do not know which way to turn. When the multitude of voices all around you seem to be saying something different, ask God about it. Here’s a wonderful promise from God’s Word: “Call unto Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you do not know” (Jer. 33:3). God wants to give you wisdom to navigate these unchartered waters during this worldwide epidemic. Regardless of what country you are in, God wants to show you things you do not know. Allow Him to do that.

But a word of warning: The revelation you receive may not be popular, even among your Christian friends, as I found out in the story I shared with you. The Spirit of God forewarned me of some dangerous activity disguised as “God,” and divinely protected me from getting involved. And I believe He can divinely protect us now. Our relationship with God and the empowerment and voice of the Holy Spirit is vital during these challenging times. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

Here’s what you need to know to survive the coronavirus: Obey the guidelines of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control website can be found here), take heed to the regulations set in place by governmental leaders, and pay attention to the message from your spiritual leaders. But all the while, pray and inquire of God. Then be still and listen. Do what He instructs you to do. He is the Spirit of Truth, the Great Revealer, and He will never lead you astray. His truth trumps the floodgates of confusing voices all around you. God loves you and me so much that if we will listen to His Spirit, He will forewarn and prepare us for things to come.

To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

Rev Glenda…be ready as the laying on of hands is needed worldwide this month…

Shedding covid crystals can accumulate in the lungs into huge particles…ultrasound can blast it but not available much so people need to use laying on of hands and prophetic healing to get better…

Hello Marge, thanks so much for stopping by sozo4all. Yes, increasingly, there are more and more news outlets reporting that effective COVID treatments are becoming scarce in many parts of the world, specifically monoclonal antibodies here in the United States.

To me, this is just one more indication that the universal Church of Jesus Christ must rise up and be about our Father’s business – including the all-important ministry of healing. We have been given an incredible evangelistic tool [biblical healing] that MUST be activated in this end-time age we are living in. Luke 21:11 (AMP version) forewarns us that deadly and devastating pestilences, plagues, and epidemics will be a great sign from heaven that our Lord’s return is near.

I can assure believers that this significant global health crisis called COVID did not take God by surprise! Oh that the Church would rise up and begin operating in the ministry of healing, which is the dinner bell to salvation! Thank you, Marge, for this great reminder!
